This time of year brings out the kid in many of us. Can you remember wishing for something with all of your heart - hoping and willing for that dream to come true? We can. We are privileged to be able to help kids live in a magical moment, one that takes them away from the daily worries of living with a life-threatening medical condition.
As we all settle in to enjoy the wonder of this holiday season, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting the Make-A-Wish mission. Your help means that no child who qualifies for a wish ever has to be put on a waiting list. Each wish child can enjoy the opportunity to hope and dream, something we can give them because of your contributions.
A wish family recently wrote to us: "Because of you and people like you, Jake's family could spend the week not worrying about anything and watching Jake just be a little boy. We are so thankful for the gift you have given us by being a part of Jake's Make-A-Wish trip. There is no way to express how important and life altering this adventure is for families like ours."
Words like these make it clear that we must continue to reach out and make sure that every child with a life-threatening medical condition has the opportunity to have a wish granted. As we turn the calendar 's page to 2008, we will be working throughout the community to share the power of a wish. We encourage you to get involved in any way that you can - refer a child, volunteer your time, attend one of our events, or make a financial contribution. You'll be amazed at how good it feels to make a difference in the life of a special child.
