GATX Corporation’s annual workplace giving campaign

In the fall of 2001, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois was invited to participate in GATX Corporation’s annual workplace giving campaign. Since then the relationship has flourished and GATX Corporation has donated more than $300,000 to Make-A-Wish through their employee giving program and sponsorship of events such as Wish Ball. Employees really get in on the act by hosting fundraisers like pies in the face, poker tournaments, raffles, sumo wrestling contests, etc. to raise even more donations for Make-A-Wish.

In August, GATX employees threw a send off party for wish child Maryah, celebrating the special child and her dream of taking a Disney Cruise with her family. This is but one of the many personal ways GATX employees participate in the mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundatio and one reason why their committment to Make-A-Wish continues to grow stronger.

For 2008, GATX has decided to donate 100 percent of its workplace giving funds to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois, making them the lead sponsor for the Make-A-Wish Golf Outing and WISHES Newsletter.
