Make-A-Wish® Illinois Named A Best NonProfit to Work For by The NonProfit Times
Make-A-Wish® Illinois is proud to announce that the organization has been included as one of The Non-Profit Times Best Places to Work For in 2013. This national honor is given to 50 non-profits based on results from both a comprehensive employer and employee survey gauging important workplace metrics and attitudes.
In addition to the opportunity to be selected to the top 50 Best NonProfits to Work For, a list that is published annually by the The NonProfit Times, this program provides employers with detailed feedback from their employees in areas spanning from training and development, pay and benefits, and work environment to role satisfaction, leadership and planning, and corporate culture.
"We are extremely proud to be recognized as a Best Place to Work," said Stephanie Springs, Chief Executive Officer of Make-A-Wish Illinois. "We do our best to provide an environment that encourages excellence so that our team can fulfill our wonderful mission to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Providing clear direction and a compassionate, inspiring culture are just some of the reasons we are able to provide the best possible experience for hundreds of wish children and their families each year."
Make-A-Wish Illinois was one of only three Illinois non-profits to be recognized, ranking 30th out of all 50 organizations and 13th out of the small non-profits included in the list. Headquartered in Chicago with field offices in Springfield and Peoria, Make-A-Wish Illinois serves all 102 counties in Illinois with help from 40 employees and more than 1,400 volunteers.
Since being founded locally in 1985, the chapter has granted more than 11,000 wishes and continues its mission to share the power of a wish® with special children across the state. For information visit wishes.org.
Many doctors tell us that a wish is powerful medicine. The doctors provide the medicine and we provide the magic!
