25 Wishes in 25 Hours ... and the Joy Continues!
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois kicked off a year-long 25th Anniversary celebration by granting 25 Wishes in 25 Hours on October 2nd and 3rd. Wish children across Illinois received a special send off or wish party during this period as the Foundation granted the most 
wishes ever in Illinois in one day. This event was not only a celebration, but it also showcased the diversity of wishes granted and the support of the community to these courageous children through the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.
Over this anniversary weekend, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois granted 25 magical wishes including:
- Ten Disney World trips
- Two Disney Cruises
- A trip to Beaches Resort in Turks and Caicos
- A trip to Hawaii
- A trip to San Diego
- Two shopping sprees
- A room redo,
- A playset,
- A horse
- A Computer
- Braces
- An all-terrain vehicle
- A guitar
- An adaptive tricycle
A grassroots organization started by a few dedicated volunteers 25 years ago, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois remains connected to the community in a unique way - neighbor helping neighbor and former wish children bringing the joy of Make-A-Wish to new wish children. The transforming impact of a wish inspires past wish children and their families, volunteers and supporters to stay involved with Make-A-Wish to help share the power of a wish® with new wish children.
For each wish granted during this 25 hour period, at least two volunteers and three staff members were involved in the planning and execution. Additionally, medical professionals working with the Wish kids referred most of these children to the Foundation and donors of all kinds provide support through cash, in-kind and frequent flier mile donations to make these 
wishes possible.
