Frank
A Star Wars Adventure in a Galaxy Far, Far Away
Frank is a sweet-natured 12-year-old from Plano, who loves racing go-carts. Like other kids his age, he loves the thrill of getting behind the wheel of a go-cart and revving that engine. Although, when he is not at the racetrack, he enjoys playing action video games and his brand new Wii. Frank is also a huge fan of Star Wars.
In 2008, Frank was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), a cancer that affects one's blood and bone marrow. ALL is the most common type of cancer in children, and treatments include chemotherapy, radiation and bone marrow transplants. Like many children, Frank was shocked to learn he had cancer but he decided early on that he was not going to let this slow him down.
When asked what he wished for, Frank asked to live out his dream of attending a Star Wars convention! The next thing he knew, Frank was whisked away to Florida to attend Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando. Frank received VIP tickets to the four-day celebration (the "official" Star Wars gathering sponsored by Lucasfilms), where he spent time immersed in the Star Wars way of life. Frank got to meet cast and crew of the films, celebrities, got autographs and listened to a variety of panels. Frank could not stop smiling as he explored the exhibition hall and got to meet his Star Wars idols!
"One of the highlights of my wish was getting to become an official Jedi Knight. I got to attend real Jedi training," Frank recounted about some of his favorite moments.
But the fun did not stop there. In addition to his Star Wars adventure, Frank visited Walt Disney World. It was so important to Frank that his family be included in his wish that he made sure to stay at the Animal Kingdom because he knew just how much his sister loves animals. Frank and his family visited the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios and of course their home base, the Animal Kingdom. He even got to meet some of his favorite Disney characters: Mickey, Goofy, Donald Duck and the gang from Toy Story.
Frank will never forget the week he spent in a galaxy far, far away!

There is never a waiting list for a wish. All eligible children can begin the wish process as soon as the child and family are ready.
