A Magical Journey
Seven-year-old Evan is a determined, funny young boy from Batavia. In his free time he loves playing computer games and eating ice cream with his sister.
Despite being diagnosed with chronic lung disease at birth, Evan continues to stay positive. He is an avid lover of Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean but nothing compares to his love for Harry Potter.
Evan wished to travel to Florida to explore The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando. For a full week, Evan and his family stayed at Give Kids the World Village, a special resort designed just for children visiting through wish granting organizations. While in Orlando, they visited Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and other various theme parks. On his adventures, Evan got the chance to train as a Star Wars Jedi, meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and go behind the scenes to work special effects for Indiana Jones.
The highlight of his trip was exploring the Wizarding World. Evan got the chance to discover the secrets of Hogwarts, eat chocolate frogs, and have his very own custom wand made. Evan's mother described the trip as a "truly magical experience".
"Without the help of Make-A-Wish, we would have never had the opportunity to give Evan an experience like this," Evan's mother said. "This helped open up a whole new world for Evan. He now has the confidence and realization that he can do new and exciting things."
