Splish! Splash! Swimming Pool Dream Come True
Dalton, 6, from Franklin Grove, is a lively little boy who loves the color green and pretzels. In his free time, he loves to swim and build things with LEGOâ blocks. Known as the town mascot, Dalton's bubbly and outgoing personality makes him a joy to be around. He constantly makes those around him smile.
Diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at a young age, Dalton's doctors said the best form of physical activity for Dalton was swimming. He was very excited to have the opportunity to wish for anything he wanted and quickly wished for a new swimming pool.
Make-A-Wish volunteers helped bring Dalton's dream to life and he now enjoys a new pool right in his backyard. To celebrate, Make-A-Wish also threw a pool party for Dalton where his family and friends gathered for cake, pizza, and a day of fun in their new pool.
"We used to have a pool but when it collapsed, Dalton had nowhere to swim for exercise. We would not have been able to otherwise afford a new one so we are extremely grateful for not only the new pool but the party and hard work that were put into making Dalton's wish special," Dalton's mom said.
More than 10,000 children have been granted a wish by Make-A-Wish Illinois.
